Our TY Geography classes tackled the Galtee Mountains on September 30th. We started from the north side of the Galtees in the Glen of Aherlow at Clydagh Bridge at 10.50. After a short walk through the fire road we entered the open heath for our first strenuous climb. After a brief stop we continued to Lough Curra for a 15 min rest.
From there we tackled the steep gully which brought us to the Galtee Wall which led us to the top of Galtee Mór. After a short lunch we began our descent towards Galtee Beag and over the south side of the ridge. We finally reache the bus about 3.45 and got back to the school for 5 pm. Plenty of tired bodies all round
