On Friday 28th October 2016, Mr. Mc Donnell took the 3b Geography Class to visit Casey’s Dairy Farm. The learned how the farm operated as as system of Inputs, Processes and Outputs. The visited the dairy herd, learned how silage was made for winter feed and then visited the milking parlour.
The finished up by having some tasty petit filous yoghurt which uses ingredients from Casey’s farm. Some 6th Year Agricultural Science students came on the trip aswell to help them with their Leaving Cert project.
Thanks to the Casey’s for the excellent education lesson on farming and for opening up their farm to us.
