Our 2B & 2D Classes visited Mitchelstown Caves and had a hillwalk in the Galtee Mountains on Thursday 12 Nov. 2015.
They spent about an hour in the caves looking at all the features like stalactites and stalagmites. We then hit the slopes of the Galtee mountains and hiked to Lough Curra. Spirits were raised by a performance of The Haka led by Craig Ryan. Very strong winds and lots of water underfoot made for a tough but rewarding trek. The wind at the lake was so strong that it whipped up spray from the surface of the water.
Tired bodies arrived back to the school about 5 pm.
Thanks to Mr. Mc Donnell, Mr. Donovan & Mr. Buckley for organising the trip.
